Another Bestseller Is Born?

Have you ever torn a book into two pieces because your beloved travel companion gets so excited about what you are talking about every night at dinner you decide to let him participate?

Well, that is what happened with Anthony Doerr´s "All The Light We Cannot See" about a blind girl and a German boy during World War II- during an early summer vacation in Forte dei Marmi. And even though the book is beautifully translated by Werner Löcher-Lawrence I read it again when we got back home - just for pleasure.

Imagine my excitement when finding out about Doerr´s new book "Cloud Cuckoo Land" that follows multiple characters, all connected by a Greek myth, across three different timelines — in 15th-century Constantinople, present-day Idaho and a not-too-distant future.

Good for us we are leaving for Italy tomorrow - this time I bought two books, the German translation is already available.
