Call Your Girlfriend

I first laid eyes on her in "Blue Velvet" - and even then I figured she must have some nerve to act out like she did -as the stupid teenager against a mysterious, sexy Isabella Rosselini character.

Then, again, I loved her in "Jurassic Park" some years later, figuring the geeky blond might be her real personality because she kind of filled that part so perfectly. We all know now that is not true - even though in movies and in real life she never showed up as the typical blond ambition.

There were tons of other movies and shows - I especially loved her in "Big Little Lies" and "Wild", both alongside Reese Witherspoon, who was also producing both projects. (May I mention that Witherspoon just sold her production company to Black Rock, cashing in One Billion dollars and turning her into the World´s richest femal Hollywood star?)

Back to Laura Dern: Now in her Fifties she seems to only become better. That way she represents a change of guards, actresses now are offered more interesting parts even when they are middleaged - probably by women producers.

Check out the conversation with her almost life-long friend Gwyneth Paltrow on Goop (to promote her involvement into a certain beauty brand, but still) and learn more about this interesting woman - behind the scenes of the big screen and behind the smaller screens as well.
